D. Chandler Matthews Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created in memory of D. Chandler Matthews, who was a graduate of the

class of 1923 and later a history teacher and librarian at Groveton High School throughout the 1940’s, 1950’s, and 1960’s. He was also the first president of the GHSAA. His mother was in the first graduating class of 1899.
