Ernest Craggy/Mabel McKelvey Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was given in memory of his dear friend Mabel McKelvey from the estate of Ernest Craggy, a lifelong resident of Groveton and a GHS graduate of the Class of 1923.  Mabel McKelvey came from a large family with little money, and she always felt fortunate that she was able to attend Plymouth Normal School and become a teacher. She was an outstanding educator who was not only a president of the NH Education Association, but also one of the original members of the NEA.  She had a great appreciation of the value of a dollar and Mr. Craggy hoped that this scholarship would enable a student to gain a good college education.
